Replacing the old stock carb on my 86 FLHTC with a new HD type carb.  I picked up two carbs on fleabay with the filter and a mount kit.   The mount plate holes don't match up with the carb holes.  Did I get the wrong mount plate?

Yes it's wrong.  With the screw holes in the chrome mount, I'd say that the mount fit the carb you just got rid of (the butterfy carb).

You will also need CV throttle and idle cables. The ones for your old carb will not work.
FYI.

It might be possible to cut the threaded section off late model head breather bolts, then drill/tap/jbweld a 5/16" stud in there for your non-breather heads.

Thanks for the input.  Can someone suggest the correct mount plate and cables.  I have the J&P catalog but can't find the correct info.

Can't he just bolt up the one on the left? Since his is not a breather type head. Just ensuring the washers seal off the breather tubes so there is no leaks?

That bracket is exactly what I need, I found a few on fleabay for a lot lower price.  Thanks.
