I removed my TMax and re-installed the stock ECM. I bought a MasterTune and have been able to verify that it is communicating with the bike by saving the existing MAP.

I cannot load a new MT6 Map. I get an error code: "Vin Check 9 failed. ECM OS Level 98 is not compatible with this tuning file."

What am doing wrong?

TIA

Year of bike?

Model ?

File you are trying to upload ?

Have you done all the updates to the software ?

It'a 2004 Road King Custom. 95" TW6hg cams D&D FatCat. I am trying to upload map #LJ127-000 and yes, I have done all of the updates to the TTs software.

I have an appointment for a dyno tune on Monday. Need a map to get me there, about 50 miles.

From the TTS Calibration File:

QuoteLevel 127 calibrations are used for 2005 “Big Twin” and some VRSC models. These
calibrations are open loop. This is also used for the 2006 “Destroyer” drag bikes

Don't believe this file can be used with an '04 ECM.

Since the Maps only go back to 2005 that means that I can't use those Maps.

Got it figured out. Had to go to the SERT file to find a compatible MAP for my year bike.

Thanks for your help.

You need to use a level 105 calibration for that model and year. When you go to load the file make sure to switch the file type to .mt6 then pick your file. All these are for 1550 with cam and exhaust and are included with the updates.

The error is from you trying to load the wrong file into the wrong ECM, it's a safety to stop you from screwing up.
The Best you know, is the Best you've had........ not necessarily the Best.
