I'm mocking up the rolling chassis and installing an Ultima inverted front end on a heavy rigid frame.  How much does those internal fork stops add to under the neck?  They appear to be maybe 1/4 to 3/8 thick.  And any clue as to how much the front end might depress once the motor, running gear and fat guy is applied.  I guess I could load up with sand bags as a simulation.

I know nothing about internal fork stops.

For the Ultima forks you need to know what rate the springs are and how much preload there is.
Then you need a rough guess at the weight of the bike. Is 600lbs about right?
Add your weight - a big lad so let's add 200lbs.
The weight on a chop is likely to be split 55% rear 45% front.
45% of 800lbs is is is 360lbs.

With you sat on the bike you want about one inch of sag on the front forks.
By fiddling with the length of the preload spacer you can get things nicely in the ball park for shake down runs. Later you can tune the front suspension to perfection(-ish) by changing the fork springs, damping, and preload spacer.

My internal fork stop only added about 1/8" under the bottom bearing cup.  Just looks like a thick dust cover.  I use this kit from Pro One.
