Looking for info on a set of good tires for my 94 FXLR. 16" in the back n 21" in the front. I liked the Avon roadrunners but I think they have replaced them with the road rider series. They don't look to bad and are a "V" rated tire. Anybody running these or have a suggestion for a good set. I'll be running a 113 engine also. Thanks in advance, RD

I checked out the Venom's and they don't seem to be a "V" rated tire.

I'm pretty sure they have a 16" (150) rear thats V rated, not sure about a 21" front.

I do have a 19" rim if I have to go that route however the road riders are "V" rated even on the 21"

Reddog,

If it'll help, I have the Avon pages in front of me from one of the wholesale distributor's catalog.  In the Roadrider series I see a V-rated 150/80/16 (71V) rear, and a V-rated 90/90-21 (54V) front.  I also see a V-rated 325-19 (54V), I'm guessing 325 is 3.25", 90/90 is 2.75/3.00".

In the Venom series I don't see a V-rated 16 or a V-rated 21.

I ran the V-rated Super Venoms for several years, the handling was awesome, but the wear was low.  I got 5-6,000 miles from them, I'm now running H rated Venom tires and getting 10-12,000.  I haven't run the roadrider tire, so I have no experience with them.  With your 113" bike, (mine was 97", 90-100 ft-lb), your torque may eat up those V-rated Roadriders.
