cam gear sprocket tool

Does anyone have a alternate method of locking the cam sprocket? Maybe a rage wedge between the sprocket and chain.I read about doing this somewhere but haven't tried it.

I have done the rag trick..
Depending if your primary is together you may be able to put the bike in gear and wiretie the rear brake petal down also.
