Can someone tell me the typical thickness for the Head, Rocker Box and Cylinder base gaskets in an ironhead?  I sent the gasket set I had with the engine to be rebuilt but am mocking up a chassis with another set of engine parts and have a real close clearance issue at the front of the rear rocker box to the gas tank mount.  It's close now and I can make the room but looking for and idea of how much.

This is using a later model gas tank on an ironhead frame.  Rear tank tabs drop down a tad below the frame and nearly touching the rocker box.

Don't forget clearance for cylinder growth when hot.

if memory serves stock head gaskets 45-48 tho.
i running the 30 thou for  a tad more compression.

Thanks.  Good point about growth. How much can be expected?  The other 2 gaskets are thin paper, right?  So in all the gaskets would be about 60 or 80 thou.    I'm shooting for 3/16 to a 1/4 space cold.

nope, rocker gasket and base are not "paper thin"
they do squish when torqued.  but...
