I got an XLS 1985 w/ 65k miles, even though I do have good compression, I'm getting oil on the plugs and the fouling is quite often. I wonder if there is still a place that you can send the upper part of the engine for rebuilt/overhaul. I wonder about the cost and the practicability (exchange for an VR?).

Just about any shop can bore it out and fit some pistons. I'd get the heads looked at also.

at 65k have the heads done.the valve guides are probably allowing oil to pass.imoSalty
