USB to Serial and windows 8

Here is my dilemma. Got a new laptop with windows 8 and I can't get the driver to work for the usb to serial cable to link with t-max. Dug into the matter a bit and read somewhere where it is not compatible with windows 8 OS. Apparently there is no more tech line at zippers and you have to email them. Couldn't get that to work either (stupid letter thing that you have to try and read and type to prove you are not a robot or whatever) after several attempts. Do I need a new cable from zippers? Are they offering one ? Maybe there is an available driver somewhere for windows 8? Anyone?

Many of the converters use the FTDI chipset. You might try installing their Win8 driver and see if that works. I don't think it will cause you any issues to try it.
