99 Road King oil light stays on before start

Is it normal for the oil light to stay on before starting?  It goes right off once I start the bike.

Normal- the light is supposed to go off if pressure is present, and come on if oil pressure is too low.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Thank You!!!!!!   Just did a spring maintenance and for the life of me, I could not remember if that was the norm or not.    Old age is setting in!!!!

It might be a Road King thing... my 2009 Road King has the same issue! 
I thought by now the MoCo would've found a fix!    :idunno:
