Finally, handlebars straighten!!

Not many threads being posted  so I will  show one project I been up to. Been trying to straighten some handlebars on my 50FL. As you can see in first photo, bars are laying beside a straight edge and slightly bent but enough that I didn't like. You are looking down on the first bend on right side from risers.

The biggest problem I had was holding the bars to try to straighten them. So with a little ingenuity I built a holder shown in next photo.

Next photo is in use. I used a 4 ton jack and it worked very well. Wrapped duct tape in contact areas to avoid to much scratches. Used some heat but very little. The only thing different I should have done is where the red arrow is in this photo, I should have ground edge off because it left a small indention in bars. I had ground some but not enough. :cry:


P.S.-- Panzer, the ants were safe today cause it was cloudy!! :hyst:
