It's too far to travel to Memphis on the weekend so who's got a good handle on good BBQ in the northeast states.  :pop:

BrianK

Village Smokehouse in Brookline, MA (near Boston city line/not too far from Fenway Park) is justifiably considered one of the best, if not THE best, in this neck of the woods.

Freakin four oclock in the morning and I'm looking at BBQ menus.  Baby back ribs sound good about now, cole slaw.  Excuse me waitress...  Guess who's having bbq ribs for lunch, what time to they start selling them.

Those are my 2 favorites around the Maine/NH border.......great BBQ at either location, and ice cold beer.

MoJo's, Islington St, Portsmouth NH.  It's very much like the place of the same name that used to be in Oswego NY (now closed) but the NH owner says no relation.  Good food, always good blues music in the background.

I second Steve's mention of Muddy River in Eliot, Me.  Good rides to/from there too.

I'm shocked.  I would have never thought that there would be Barbeque in New England.  I thought it would be like ordering sushi at a Taco Bell.

I thought the same thing.  Wife is from NJ/NYC area and when she first go down here to SC you referred to bar-b-queing as grilling steaks on the grill and thought BBQ was beef.  Had to set her straight, BBQ is pork, cooking steaks or any other meat on the grill is nothing more than grilling.

I second BrianK -- Village Smokehouse.

The good news is that they opened a second location in Lowell...haven't been there yet, but talked to a couple of buds who said it's just as good as in Brookline.
