I just purchased a used 2013 FLTRX (road glide custom) with 3100 miles; Want to remove stock mufflers & install Rineharts
for a nicer sound.  Don't want to lose performance  - my question is does motorcycle have to be remapped by just changing mufflers? Thanks.

Take a look at the dyno section here.
As delivered the stock bikes with no changes need remapping, so yes you would be wise and happier if you remap when changing the exhaust

Rinehart's advertisement in AM magazine says you do not need to remap, bolt on and roll. I don't believe it.

After market exhaust sales is really big business, as nearly every H-D gets this. If the manufacturers, shops, and internet retailers were to speak honestly, and advise their customers that the bike needs retuning to accommodate these changes, and to further enlighten them to the additional costs involved, what would this do to sales?
