How do I remove the tappits? Looks like from the top?  Then the blocks?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks E.T.

Wicked

Yes - remove pushrod, then the tappet and lifter block together.

E.T.

Will the tappits stay in the block when it is removed?

Powerglides

Not necessarily. They will drop under their own weight unless stiction from the remaining oil holds them.

Remember it is important to rotate the blocks before removal.... Rear 2 anti clockwise and front 2 clockwise. To hold the lifters in place as you remove the blocks you can use a paper clip carefully in the end of the lifters or a magnet. This is more important when you reinstall the blocks so the rollers don't break the lifter blocks. If they drop as the blocks are removed it is ok, they must not drop as they are installed. You will see what I mean as you lift them out.
If you can't fix it with a hammer and a roll of Duck tape then you're in trouble
