1200S Cams

Have a 2000 1200S and see in service manual that is the only year they used the W cams all other years they used D cams, what is the difference in these cams.
Also need to find a 6 cut ignition cup,what to put a S ignition system on my 81 Ironhead.

D cams (91-06 XL883, 91-03 XL1200):

  • intake 02/41 (223 degrees), .458 lift, .094TDC
  • exhaust 41/02 (223 degrees), .458 lift, .094TDC
W cams (98-03 XL1200S, 04-up XL1200, 07-up XL883):

  • intake 10/25 (215 degrees), .480 lift, .133 TDC
  • exhaust 38/12 (230 degrees), .481 lift, .138 TDC

 :up: Thanks for the info on the cams,me I like the profiles,this bike runs on C-16 VP
gas,with Blendzall Goldlabel,S&S E Carb,my manifold mods,HD 2 into 1 no muffler just
my extension,stock ignition,27 tooth trans pulley,16 in back tire,will get bars and struts this year. Thanks Again
