It seems that the front cylinder on my bike is burning oil, blue colored smoke coming from that pipe. I was wondering if the problem could be bad valve seals or something like that in the head or if the rings or cylinder are bad. If I did a compression test and it turned out that I have good compression would that rule out rings, or would bad valve seals or something else in the head effect the compression?

Trip

If you end up with 165 -180...your rings and valves are fine....valve seals go all the time .

I second trips diagnosis,But to be 100percent sure do a leak down test. This will let you know how well your rings and valves are sealing.

If you gotta pop the heads off, perfect time for a good valve job, re-surface, and a cam install.
