welding cylinder fins ?

can anybody share any wisdom in regards to repairing broken cylinder fins ? i bought some oem 80" cylinders off ebay and they arrived with a few fins knocked off while in transit.  :cry:

I haven't had it done in years but, in the past, I've had a good welder repair fins with good results. If you have any indy shops in your area, I'd check with them to see if they can recommend anyone.

Years ago I had a guy working for me that tigged up some broken fins on his brother's pan jugs.  He was good and it looked fine.

I had a shop known for it's welding capabilities weld on two broke fins and a bolt flange.......I reshaped with a dremel and flashed a sand blaster across the area to retexture. Can't tell they were broke.
