Would you achieve the same by grinding down base circle of stock cams, as you would using high ratio rocker arms?

yes,we did it WAY back in the day on my 96" iron P/S motor (today, get bigger cams or go with higher ratio rockers)

People try to cheat using reground cams in racing where a certain or stock cam is required...decent tech catches them.  :embarrassed:    Rick

Back in the early seventies I had a set of Norris cams in my 73 xl that were modified stock p cams "welded regrinds"  I think was what you called them

we used them in the late 60s for the mini cars, we called them silent ground cams , you couldnt hear them , but gave you higher lift, and a different opening and closing ,depending if it was a circle grind or a oval grind, did they work ? in a way yes , cheers Barny
