Gentlemen,
Good morning and good year. I decided it is time to repair my 1975 Iron Head 1000cc, that has been stopped too much time. This Sporty has two troubles.
1st: ELECTRICAL. Last time electric starter run, the positive terminal battery melted down.
2nd: HEAVY LEAK OIL. Oil floods under pressure from cork seals at the bottom of push rods. What are the possible causes about these troubles? Many thanks for any help.

1st - normally happens because of loose or corroded connections.
2nd - if oil in fact came out there under pressure, I'd be looking at the breather hose/assembly from the front of the cam cover
        being restricted.....plugged, kinked,....
next would be the oil return line being restricted for same reasons...

^^ Yes...and the longer yer Harley sits, the more likely to puddle oil in the bottom end...add oil and it gets worse yet..
No oil in till ya run it and "clear it's throat".

#1 agree.............loose terminal connection will melt connection.
