Messed up my iPod controler cable HDPDPLUS2

I recently relocated my iPod controller module under the radio and neatly zip tied the excess cable in a good place so I thought. On a ride last weekend the songs would change and the song wouldn't display.
Two days later i went to test it again found my 6 month old battery was dead? Then opened the faring and found a cut in the iPod interface cable. I didn't leave enough slack and the brake line rubbed a cut in the cable. Thought Id share in case anyone has problems with the iPod Interface.
