Removing CB Box

Just a quick question to confirm my thoughts.
I don't use the CB on the UL so can I remove the unit without causing damage in the way of feedback or some unknown spike to the system. Without it I would be able to mount my amp lower in the fairing and clean up some room. I plan on installing the hidden antenna at the same time and clean up the back of the bike so I can remove the tour pack whenever I want to since the bike came with the detachable docking station.
I have heard that the reception isn't the best with the hidden antenna but I usually have my phone or Ipod connected so a little less radio reception isn't a worry.
BTW the bike is a 2013 UL.
