throttle cable

+Having trouble getting proper throttle cable. No one at suppliers has a clue. Sure someone on here does.  Throttle clamp is aftermarket. I NEED cable with 5/16 x18 end. They keep insisting I use cable for 76-80 which has a 1/4 x 20 end(OEM 56313-76). Which year throttle cable do I need.  I have stock length just need 6" over to go with my apes. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You probably put in a dual cable setup- is it for an S&S or other aftermarket carb?

Thanks for your help. Got to thinking and a lot of searching. Single cable throttle housing but it takes dual cable type throttle cable. Found out 1/4 inch end up to 1980.  5/16 end 1981 -1996, clip in end 1996 to present .Need inner cable 3 3/4 longer than outer  = 1981-1986.
