Moved from a RS 577 w/SERT to a Tman 590w/thundermax.

The rest of the motor is a 113 SE kit/58mmtb/5.3injectors/stage1 intake/D&D fat cat. And the SE pro ACR heads(not milled or touched up) Yada yadda. Not the kit in the catalogue but pretty close enough.

I'm thinking this isn't a one of build so I'm asking for suggestion on a base map.  Right now I'm running one for a 120r/58mmtb/D&D fat cat.  It's mediocre at best.  Runs out of steam at about 4k in 6th.  Starts to ping on accel above 240 oil temp, and is terrible in stop and go traffic  above 25*c cause of heat issues.  All since cam change

The previous cam and tuner combo was great, except I couldn't ride below 2900rpm with out lugging,  but it loved 44-4700 range in 6th.

I talked to TR , and he said there's a tuning/timing issue as this cam should pull through that 4k range.

I don't expect the same 225km/h top end I had with the 577, but I shouldn't struggle to get to 175

Any one have a map they used on a similar build?

Thanks!

Need to know what bike [TBW or Cable], what compression... what map are you currently running too.

It's tbw, 10.5:1ish current map looks like  248. I'm looking at trying 220?

Here's my take...

Your build is like mine in the sense that there isn't what people would see as a direct match.
TMax has a list of things to use in the selection, BUT I don't agree and have found other things that work

You went from a RS577 to the TM590, if you look at the Centerline for intake and exhaust they are very close between the cams:
RS577 IN-CL 100.5   EX-CL 105.0
TM590 IN-CL 101      EX-CL 104

At 10.5 and the new cam having an earlier intake close the corrected compression will be higher...

Bottemline I would try Map 310, it is listed as a 103ci, but the notes state High compression 103-106, 107 and 110 motors with TBW. similar cam to RS577 and 2-1 D&D fatcat. 5.3 injectors.

JUST need to run the bike/tune to allow the map to adjust BEFORE getting on it...
E.C.
1) start the bike and let it idle until head temperature reaches 220*, shut it down [the bike needs to be hooked up to your computer and in monitor mode to see head temperature.
2) start bike and run it around working throttle slowly up/down but not more than 3,000 RPM, shut it down
3) same as #2, but now up to 4,000 RPM

That should be a good start... TMax will add fuel pretty quick, it is slow to remove it which is a good thing

edited to clarify 220* temperature

What version of TMax do you have... I can't find map 248 or 220 in either TMax II or Smartlink?

Might want to reload/update the software that you're running on the computer.

Tmax with wave tune?  Tmaxll. My bad. Map 340 is what I'm running and  319 is the one I was thinking of trying

Sorry inexperience got the best of me

I would use one of the zippers maps for their RS577 cam... as stated it's a good match to your TM590
