How to install Transmission Main Shaft Gear Seal

What do folks use to drive this seal home correctly? The main shaft is so long that a deep socket isn't long enough. Anybody have a home grown tool for this job?

I've put'em in with a hammer.Practice makes perfect.Charlie

Oil your spacer and seal .Put the spacer into the seal and slide over the mainshaft.Now get a piece of PVC pipe longer than the mainshaft with an inside diameter that sits on the metal of the seal.Set it against the seal and tap it in.
