1974 XLCH Sportster Foamy Oil

Have not been able to ride this bike very much this season.  Just took it out and noticed oil was all foamy and some actually leaked out the filler tube and onto the hot pipes.  Any one have any idea on what this might be?

hummm  not ride it much.
did you maybe add some oil to low tank prior to ride?
oil seeps through check ball in pump and sumps crank cases.
when start it pukes it back up. if tank is full, well
it will empty itself.

First rule of H-D...Only check oil on a hot, been ridden engine.

hi Bob, you need to ride the bike a good 25 miles at high speed to burn-off the condensation in this hot, humid weather. Short trips around town will turn the oil to goats milk......

Foamy oil is normal, lots of splashing happens in these engines.
