Speeding Big Twin

The ad says: '1950 F Case - matching set'

But I am not convinced. At top rear of the left case the 7 appears to be the later type but the R-H case has the earlier style 7. If the cases are a matching set then why are the 7s not the same type as each other? A photo of the belly numbers would probably tell us more.

Also notice the boss on the R-H case where the oil pressure gauge mounts. That boss does not look original to me and no 1950 model case originally had a boss there. A boss was introduced in a similar position to accommodate an oil screen as of mid/late-1952 models and the photo below shows the boss as part of a case cast in February 1951.
