cam bearings

has anyone run bushings like a K model or newer evo in place of cam bearings in iron head right case..

I found some cam  bushings for a 45 ci flat head. a little clean up with a mill and good fit. used K model cam shims and works great. the dealer told him it couldn't be fixed with out welding and re machining and it would warp the case. saved a good clean iron head.
