Well, I'm hooked.  Finally made it to the track this evening for test n tune at the local 1/8th mile track.  The bike ran really great and I learned a lot.  I hadn't made a pass in 14 years, and this was my first on a bike.  The bike is an 04 FLHTSE, with a 124 crate with a small compression bump and heads by MegaFlo, tuned by Jason at C&S.  My launches weren't all that great, as I didn't lean on it too hard.  I also need to raise the rev limit as I was hitting it about 50 feet from the finish line. I have to thank Jason, the bike is just so smooth.  The bike was in full dress, save for the tourpak, plus carrying my big ass.

Sounds like you had a good first outing with the bike.

Fall is my favorite time to run at the strip, lower temps and humidity make for more HP. Nice run

Build, tune, test, and repeat.  Simple enough.  Looks real good so far.

I'm there!  I will be back there in a couple weeks, need to do some clutch work first. I plan on running the et  class then.  I know there is quite a bit left in it, just need more practice and a few tweeks to the bike.  I was very happy with my results, I learned a lot.

Are you running a chain final drive?

I've launched my 113" hard twice.

I have shredded OE belts...twice.

I have to launch less aggressively to save belts, so I wouldn't have much hope for good 60' times.

Our local strip closed years ago; I may take it somewhere for a real timed run, some day.
Rhetorical questions, who still does those?

Buy the heavy duty sidecar belt. I popped my original with a dealer 203 95".

Good place to start- consistency is the name of the game there, and isn't as horribly expensive as trying to "out-horse" the competition.
Smooth is fast. Work on doing the same thing every time, and trophies and a smaller bank account await :)
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

I did switch to the sidecar belt on my older RK, but,
there's no sidecar equivalent (that I'm aware of) for the 1" 140T on the new frame (2010)

That figures. I'd think somebody must make one, prolly cheaper too.
Somebody should pick up on this in a minute or two with help.

A little clutch work and changing my shift points and raising the rev limit got me a couple tenths.  I am still playing with tire pressure, about to get it figured out.  Bike was run in the exact same trim as last time, fully dressed.  The biker and me will both get put on a diet this winter!

Nice looking runs. You are heading in the right direction for sure.
I would start with removing that side hack.
