Went to the track yesterday on my dyna . It was cold and the track was really slick . Saw several AWD cars having trouble hooking up ! First pass i had my tire pressure at 28 psi . Launched good but as i was shifting into second i started blowing off the rear tire . Grabbed gears as quick as i could and it finally started to grab in 4th . Second run i went to 20 psi , short shifted to 4th then went through the traps around 6000 rpm in 4th gear . Made progress with the second run then it started raining and we left . I used my new gopro to film it . Here are links to the videos

Good job Josh
It was our last T&T of the year too.

I had a little mishap on the big end .
I put my foot down , to keep from going down.
I either hit a oil spot or my rear tire left the ground and spun the tire, when it came back in contact . Best we can see from video is the tire went up in smoke , right after the end of the traps . I was just lifting and pulled in the clutch . It went into a sideways tank slapper .
Not what ya wanna do at 115-120 mph .
My left boot .

If that's all that happened and you didn't break your ankle, that is a good outcome.
Good job to both of you.

Planning a couple of changes as well. Rear tire being No.1. Will have to see what's available in 180/55/18. The other is a tweak to the exhaust, along with a tune/PV map to go with it. I'm running Nightsticks with 14 discs/closed caps. It's nice and quiet, has a flat torque curve, and has awesome street manners. Going to see what an open end cap, and perhaps 20 discs will do. Hopefully, it will give me a little more top end, and maybe soften the bottom end and make it more launch friendly. :nix:

Have 6 months to think about it

What is VHT ?
VHT is the brand name for one of the traction compounds available that tracks use for prep.

Not a bad way to go on a slick track IF the operator will let you use it, we did it back in the late 80's on a track in Peavely Mo. It was the first and last time I have seen it used independently by racers, heck, everyone at that track was using VHT or something similar to burn through after the water burn out.

None of our local tracks would allow it here in the Kentuckiana area, we had to depend on what they did/didn't provide.
