2008 SG Audio Upgrade Questions

Bike: 2008 SG with stock HK head unit.

I have installed Kappa 62.11i Speakers and a RF PBR300X2 Amp.

The speakers and amp are installed. I am in the process of wiring it all up with Amp + & - going to the battery using 10g wire.

What amp fuse should I use at the battery for the RF amp?

Is the remote lead needed on this install? And if so is 16g wire OK?

From what I have read, setting the gains with this amp and speakers:
Run the amp on AP and set the gains at 5.5.

I would prefer to set the gains using a DMM:

The math, P=300, and R=2 the voltage should be 17.32?

remote lead is not needed in your case - provided the signal output of the head unit will turn the amp off and on.  There is a voltage knob on the side of the amp that determines at what point the amp turns off and on with the signal from the head unit.

It's been proven time and time again where the gains are most respectful with this exact setup.  Just set it at 5-1/2 and be done with it.

Should the + & - be tinned or bare going into the PBR?
It looks like the wire release is on the bottom of unit and I would have to pull the amp to get at it?

the only time I tin wires is when they're being utilized in a screw down type connector like the power connector on this amp.  this gives the screw something to bite onto other than thinly stranded copper wire.  The wire release is on the bottom but the whole connector simply unplugs.

LOL, I didn't know it just unplugged!!! I'll tin the wires and screw them down.

UltraNutz had a bunch of stuff for sale on another forum and I jumped on it.
The RF amp was used for bench testing only and the speakers where new in the box.
The Stand Up guy that UN is, he threw in the speaker adapters and the mounting plate that he had laying around.
