Looking at upgrading the system in my 03. Keeping it 2 speakers in the fairing only and keeping it budget friendly. Biketronics has a sale on BT1005X Retro Radio Kit, Splash Cover, 7.1" Titan II Speaker Kit and a CLEARANCE Kenwood Bluetooth Radio. for $520. Sound this be a good way to going even tho it has no amp?

Or option 2 a Kenwood or sony headunit, retro radio kit, some 6.5" speakers and adapters and a PBR300X2.

Anyone go opinions on pros and cons?

You REALLY need an amp to drive those 7.1 speakers. I have them in my fairing they need power.
Anything less then overkill is under achievement.

:agree: I would get the speakers now and get the amp when you can afford it . Trust me I have been down this road.

I really thought they needed an amp. not sure which direction I'm going yet.

They do need a amp but buy what you can afford now.

BT is the direction you're going. Get an amp when the budget allows. I'm still going down this road and have extra amps and speakers to to show my path.

My plans changed a little. Ended up doing

Kenwood Exceleon X898
Hawg wired wiring adapter and single din kit
Jl Audio xd400/4 amp
Jl C2 6.5" component speakers
Jl 6.5" Marine speakers in lids

So much for the budget.
