My audio is distorted at the speaker level. My question is: Is the headphone output found on the dash an output from the radio or the power amp attached to the radio? I'm trying to separate the two so I know which of the two devices may be at fault.

Thanx
Tom

Great. So what I will discover is that if my headphone are clear and the speakers distorted the power amp is at fault?

UltraNutZ

not really sir.  could be speakers, could be amp, could be wiring in between the two, could be the head unit itself.

you have to test each piece individually and if I were you, I'd start with the speakers.   Unplug one of the speakers in question and plug in a known good speaker to test
