spt 883R voltage regulator doubt

the bike its a 2007 883R, the 2009 voltage regulator will work on it??
it seems have same switches .

Why do you want to put a 2009 reg. on the bike when it calls for a 2007 reg.?
Do you have a 2009 laying around?
