Just had to replace the throttle body as my throttle shaft broke. The dealer said he set the IAC. When I looked at the setting (at temp) it was 65. I turned the adjusting torx head screw clockwise. I stopped when the engine idle speed increased. The best reading I was able to get is 58 at idle, at temp. The basic engine settings show a value of 50 (highest it will go).

Should I ren in the screw further, increasing engine rpm and then shut off? Will the IAC compensate for the changed setting and lower rpm to the 1000 mark?

Inquiring mind would like to know!

The IAC will reset itself every time you hit the kill switch and then turn it back on.  Try that and see where your IAC is at. Repeat the cycle until you have your desired IAC setting.

Thanks SpeedGlide will try that in the morning.

I assume you are doing your adjustments on a warm engine, not cold.  60 is common cold, shoot for around 30 warm..

Success!!

The adjustment work just as you said it would. I am now at 29-30 IAC at idle, at temp. TPS readjusted to .4v.

Thanks,
