I usually agree with you wholeheartedly but on this one you have to take into account the fact S&S put that cone in the first teardrop air cleaners in the 60's and everyone sense so who copied whom.

They have had that in the air cleaners for over 40 years at least maybe longer ..

S&S does is and it's sound logic and good engineering.
But, Boyesen does it and it's a gimmick.

The Boysens I've seen are a couple of thin vanes that just about enter the throttle body or carb vs a round, sort of tornado shaped cone on S&S air cleaner covers.

Trask has one
