21 inch Thunderstar Wheel

I have a question concerning the 21-inch Thunder Star Rim.  I can't get an answer from HD or any of the distributors ect....  I would like to put one on my 1997 FXSTC and am looking for some fitment expertise.  I really like the rim.  I also like the idea being able to plug a tire or use fix a flat when on a road trip if the unexpected happens.   From what I have read the rim will only work on 99s and up due to caliper configurations; idk.  I know I have seen them on older bikes though.  Appreciate any instructions or where to look.

i have a thunder star on my 1997 fxstc, i bought a NOS one, part #43975-00, i had harley install it, there was not a problem at all they made it work, even if they had to shave down a spacer ,they made it work,   fits nice, rides nice and easier to clean than the spoke rim
