My stock HK radio is not keeping time like it used to - is there a software update to correct this?

Depending on year and current software, there may be an update.

What year?
what is the current software?

It's on a 2012 CVO Road Glide - not sure what the current software installed is

That is the latest software.

What is the clock doing (fast or slow)?

Slow

Low voltage conditions can cause the clock to run slow.
Be sure the battery is in good condition.
If not riding for extended periods of time, a battery tender may help.

89 fxrs

When not riding it's always on the battery tender - battery is the original one , will check it

Everyone I've seen runs slow. I think it's just what you get when you go cheap and use a 100 ppm processor crystal as a clock time base.

WHAT!  are you saying that HD is cheap!  nah.. say it isn't so please....

They need to be changed for the same reasons

What user mode are you in?  If you are using either "RDS" or "User Time" I would change to "GPS".  That way it will sync each time you ride.  If it is slow in GPS mode then the syncing with the GPS is not working properly.

Coyote

Why would you assume the OP has a GPS module? Very unlikely.

in all fairness I think he was referring to a headunit with GPS such as that of the newer bikes.  This is an older 13/prior head unit that doesn't have GPS abilities (any longer)

used to be an option up until about 06/07 when those POS HD GPS modules could no longer be found.
