I have been thinking about doing another air ride for my current bike, 2016 flhxs. I had a diy air ride with Monroe shocks on my last ride, a 2007 road king. Today I started taking measurements on the streetglide. When I removed the factory shocks on my streetglide and raised it to 14" center to center on the shock mounting bolts (the same distance as the Monroe shocks fully extended). At this point the swingarm just touches the transmission. Has anyone else noticed this? It is a very light touch but so not sure if it would cause long term problems.

You have to remember even though the shocks extend to 14", once you sit on the bike they will not stay at 14". Only on full extension will they touch the transmission. Personally I wouldn't go with those shocks. I would get something designed for bikes (Dirty Air new style, Legend, Arnott or AirFX).

You could also add a lowering kit to limit the Monroes extension, just be very careful about tire/fender clearance when dumped.
