Running codes of a 2017 Limited

Anyone know how? My buddies 2017 has the check engine e light on and it is different from the earlier years.

Code cleared after going to diagnostic menu.  Quite different from Twin Cam when we got to menu, so need info on how to get to codes.  We were seeing stuff like EMC Y, BCM N.  I'm with PoorUB.
