Assuming you're describing every time he does it, I have to ask.....what exactly is the "higher gear" you mention?

To explain why I'm asking, a heavy pilot (220+ lbs) with bags filled with crap, running along at 2500RPM in say 6th gear then aggressively "rolling-on" (near WFO, maybe?) the throttle resulting in a "diesel" sound can mean he's in the wrong gear for the application. Has he tried the same application in say 5th or even 4th gear(s) to see the difference?

Back to basic trouble shooting, is it fuel or ignition causing the problem?

So the shop calls and says my bike is ready. I go to pick it up with a buddy so I can ride it home. Before I left I took it for a very short ride, bike didn't shut down. Well, on the way home about 42 miles from the shop, I'm sitting at stoplight and it shuts down. I got it out of traffic, went to start it, it fired up and "seemed" to run fine. This time I had my Power Vision module with so I plugged it in to check codes. NO CODES!

What Gives?

What's the tuning device? Any chance he can use it to make a data record, using stock plug wires and stock plugs?

On ANY Delphi system, would a bad ignition switch throw a code if it were bad? I have had 2 different opinions on this and am curious.

P.s. By ignition I am referring to the switch that is also your fork lock. 2023 and older.

here is bike
2009 Road King 103 Andrews 48h D&D louvered wrapped
The heads are from 96ci intake and exhaust of the heads was opened up little bit for better airflow ,throttle body as well fueling lifters fueling complete fueling oil pump intake and exhaust valves are stock they was not increase with size and that will be all.

the issue is when rolling on throttle from like 2500 in a higher gear sounds like a diesel from the intake riders next to me can even here it , wont do it unless driving , not pipes have changed and still noise, changed cams still noise, did it when 96" and now 103 still , not throttle blade checked,  took air cleaner off and rode still there , can change timing and it is still there but changes time it happens , not primary all new , its driving him crazy

i was thinking maybe rod knock or piston slap but i just have no experience with those sounds. told him i know smart guys on a group so im posting for him. he has taken to dealers and indy shops dealer says reversion bull crap,
