I've made a leak !

That's the OEM seal with the right orientation:

Here is the wrong orientation:

If the inner lip sits out further than the outer edge, it is in backwards..

Looks like it.. Also if only one sealing spring on the seal, it should be on the inside..

I had an issue with a James IPB seal leak when used with the SnS bearing race.. It worked well for 5 to 6 K but started to leak. The James seal was installed right but the outer lip did not ride against the bearing.. Water and dirt got inside and rusted the bearing surface at the seal which wore the seal and it leaked. Didn't see it on the first RnR..  :embarrassed:

Thanks Max.. Yes the inner edge sure does protrude further out than the outer....And Yes  one spring which I had facing out....
