I have a 03 Electra Glide with 75,000 miles on it. It's time
to replace the front rotors. Will I notice any difference going to
floating rotors?      I have stock rims.
Thanks for any and all input.

I have an '03 EG and switched out to the black floating rotors and didn't notice a difference.  Only reason was for the switch was for the color.

Do you have the stock rims (not the spokes)
When I was doing some research on the H-D Dealer site
They found only certain rotors went with certain rims.
May have read it wrong.

IF you had an occasional Squeal or UN-Even brake Dragging from solids... Yes, they will float straight n be quieter... JMO...

I was thinking about Cooling? IF they cool as Quickly as solids... The Floating part might not dissipate as much heat as Solids but warpage is a little more control floating...

No complaints about Heat Problems tho...

Choice:
I'd install them instead of solids...

I put EBC floaters front and rear on my Road Glide and they are quiet and the price was not bad. They have several styles so you may find a look that will go with your wheels.

The biggest advantage I've found for floating rotors is that they are far less likely to warp from heat. Over the years I've had rotors warp to the shape of salad bowls (seriously) when for one reason or another my calipers have failed to fully release (not always the calipers fault). Even in normal driving on mountain roads rotors can get really hot. Not a problem everyone will run into but it happened to me a couple of times so now all I run is floaters.

Agree with that. I don't know if the HD sei-floaters are a different material, but they look like they are. I've some better stopping power with them. I was using the same brand and type pads before and after.

Stock gold rims.

I changed to floaters and with the stock calipers/pads noticed almost no difference. I then changed out pads to SBS HS and they produced stronger and more linear braking with far less dust. fwiw Buffalo

That's how I saw my situation as well. EBC Track Day pads were only a little improvement with the OEM rotors. Went to HD floaters, braking was much improved.

I put Harley floaters on the front of my sons '02 RK along with Lyndall gold + pads and it stops almost as good as my '11 Road Glide Ultra. He's very, very happy with the braking.

Would I be able to use stock pads with H-D floating rotors?
Also were would be a good site to look at rotors?

Ohio HD

Sure, you can use any pad you would like. Go yo the HD site to see rotors. Look under shopping, for bike.

Found the rotors/part numbers for the rotors I want (44358-00A)
Did some looking around and they are not more then stock rotors.
Does anyone have a preferred dealer they buy from, I'm guessing
this is a dealer only part.

Thinking of buying the rear too     they don't need replacing but will
have them when needed

Surdyke has been decent to work with, and free shipping generally, and no sales tax.
