I'm currently in the process of building a kick a$$ audio system for my '02 EG standard. I already know what components I'll be using for the entire set up and have researched all of it except for one thing. To save time, I am planning on purchasing the Hawg Wired universal stereo adapter, otherwise, I know I can build one for just slightly cheaper than what the going $ is.
Anyone have any experience with one of these adapters?

Thanks,
Lil' Chief

Dunno about Hawgwired but did you look at the Biketronics stuff?

I'm running a Biketronics set up right now with a Sony MEX-1GP stereo, Pioneer speakers up front and MB Quarts in the rear, but I'll be switching to an Alpine head unit real soon, and as far as I knew, Biketronics doesn't make an adapter for anything other than Pioneer and Sony, unless I missed something new. If they do, I'll go with the Biketronics unit again!

OK,
Biketronics it is! I just looked and found that they have a new adapter out there that will work.

Thanks to all,

Chief, what kind of head unit are you using. I had a Clarion in my 00 FLHTC but could never find an adapter to use with the handlebar controls so just roughed it and velcroed the remote to the tank dash. I saw the most awesome system on a bike in Austin this summer. Kid did a hell of a job. He had for Focal 5 1/4" in the fairing with seperate tweeters. He built the inner fairing himself. It was slick. Then he took a chopped tourpak and completely redid the cover with two Focal 8" woofers on each side and an Alpine amp set into a recess he cut into the top of the lid then covered it in lexan so you could see the amp. He had a high power capacitor to help with the power management when it hit the bass notes so as not to over tax the charging system. This was on an Ultra and it was sweet. Wish I would have had my camera there to get pics. I told the guy he needed to patent the setup as it was very nice. Spidey.

I'll be using an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit. I like the fact of being able to use my i pod as well as memory sticks for music. Beats the hell outta carrying CDs. I'll be going with 6 1/2" speakers up front, 5 1/4" in the lowers, and another set of 6 1/2" in the rear pods. I'm going to add a 2 channel custom amp in the near future. I have some custom made billet adapter plates to mount the speakers in the lowers. It'll be coming apart and then back together in the near future.
