I did a search on High Torque Starters and didn't come up with much.  Who recommends what in regards to High Torque Starters.

Just purchased a Terry Components 1.7 kw starter. My builder recommended it highly.

I'm running the Ultima 1.75KW in my 103, 2nd season coming up.

Edit yes you will need to install the spacer for the oil spout.

Running a Compufire Gen 3  2KW. Working good so far.   Make sure if you have fuel injection to get a starter for your application.   Carbs start with slow starter,   ECM wont let Motor start if its not turning fast enough.

FWIW, several years ago when I put a new S&S 124 motor in my 03 ultra.  They were having issues getting my motor to start and turn over.  I was pretty lucky as it just so happened that S&S was there on site for Biketoberfest.  Charlie from S&S had them yank out the starter they had put in and told them that they needed to put in a harley starter.   the comment made was it was not just the torque that was needed but the speed as well.   They put in a new high output harley starter and the bike fired right up.   Haven't tried another starter since, but also haven't needed to either.

Another vote for Tech, running for 5 years now no problems

Blazing Saddles

One more vote for the Tech Cycle starters.  I've been running one for over 8 years - starting  a 10:1,  107" engine with absolutely no problems.

2.0 kw Tech here , workin great!!.....xzo

Techcycle has a really good set-up.  The 1.4kw compact will fit well, yet the 1.8kw should work faultlessly.  Anybody know where I can find a deal on either.

Blew the starter in a six year old bike.  Instead of getting OEM from dealer I went here.  It was a tight fit but didnt' need to alter or shim anything.  I have a very mild build so sure it isn't a high comp motor but it works for me.

also had good luck with this starter. spacer is required ,good cables and batt, you will need to check fitment and aplication.

Tech makes a great starter but was out of my budget at the time.
