What's the best way for my buddy and me to ship our baggers from Boston to Seattle next spring?  I got a quote from Federal Motorcycle Transport via the National HOG site - is there a better outfit in terms of price and/or reliability?

did you ever watch "Vanishing point"? just hire a couple guys to ride the bikes out..what could go wrong?

check with some of the classic car carriers, they have been known to put a bike or two in the front of the trailer, most of them haul cars worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and respect their cargo very well!

when selling a bike I use Daily Direct. They pickup and deliver everywhere.

check with your local HD dealer, they could crate and ship to a dealer there....?

why not ride them ? :potstir:

I think the best way is to ship me a plane ticket from Cal to Boston, and I will even buy my own gas and get home from Seattle on my own.Sounds fair to me. :teeth:  Coff 06

FLHTCguy,
Six of my buds and I just did a deal with Keyboard Motorcycle Shipping to transport our bikes from So. Indiana to northern California.  We checked them out thoroughly and feel comfortable with the choice.  Also I've used Federal twice with no problems at all.

I can't say enough good about Daily Direct Haul. I bought a bike at Heritage H-D in Concord, NH a few years ago and had these guys http://www.haulbikes.com/shipping_process.html bring it to me. $458.00 and that was with their 100% insured deal. If they put so much as a fingernail mark on your bike it is 100% covered and they deilvered it right to my doorstep in Roswell, NM. No problems and the driver was great. Most all their drivers ride themselves and are excellant. They don't haul anything but bikes, atv's, snowmobiles or personal watercraft. I give them a huge thumbs up. Spidey.
You can ride my hoss, Ride my woman but don't ever ride my bike.

Spidey we don't generally take on shipping bikes or new vehicles - but based strictly on deck space and weight - I say you got a screaming GREAT rate! (that aint even 22 cents a mile)

I have used Federal 3 times, no issues.  Several dealers recommended them.  Maybe kickbacks involved, but it was good experience for me.
