Any ideas on removing powder coating from sheet metal?

Soda blast. Or plastic media blast.

as a former powder coater all I can tell you is sand and keep sanding. There is no special chemical that I know of that strips it off. powder coat is polyester so if you know of something that will react with it give it a try.

My powder coater here in NH just puts the piece back in his oven and burns/melts it off.

A quick sandblast and it's ready to be re-done.
