The old Flatties are still the prettiest bikes ever made, and probably always will be. Everything about 'em is pretty. Heck, a bare frame is a work of art to me.

I think I remember reading somewhere there is a company in Australia that still makes the engines I am not sure about the whole bike maybe some guys from Australia can shed more light on this .

Google has a few hits for restoration parts. Type Harley Davidson WLA parts in Google.

V-Twin Co. makes and sells parts for older HD's, some flathead parts, etc. They are on the internet and have a catalog.

I owned four HD 45's when I was a kid in Chicago. They were a great machine.

Thanks to all who replied.
Have been in touch with 45 Restoration Company in Albany NY.
Seems they will fit our needs. Actually, there are 2 bikes, 37 - 45WL fairly complete and a 42Wl which has been completely bastardized, having only the engine and tranny as usable. Frame has been chopped and raked and all fittings removed.

Any info on a rolling chassis for the 42 would be appreciated.
Thanks again

That's the sad part of attempting to find parts for these restorations. Most all of them got chopped after the war and on into the 70's until they got so scarce that people went on to other things.

For the life of me, I don't see the charm in destroying an original frame simply to move the wheel out farther. They were never done right, either. That is, they never, ever got the forkheads back on so that the wheels lined up properly. But more importantly, they looked like #^#%^@#$%! and the frame was worthless after that.
