My 50Fl mostly orginal has no original neck lock key. I have read it is a briggs stratton brand so I been wondering if this legit--

Original owner keep looking for it but I am not giving up, cause they sent me the tool box key after 21/2 years!!!           Thanks, Jim  :soda:

If you know a GOOD lock smith , he may be able to make one for ya.
I have heard of others doing it .Some thing about a number on the lock , not sure if it had to be removed or not .

I am pretty sure thats true but It would not have the briggs name on it. Might be wrong but I think the originals have briggs on them

Harley Davidson had a close relationship with Briggs & Stratton (also headquartered in Milwaukee) for many years. I know in the late 1970's the ignition switch for fat bob tanks, the keys still had the B&S logo on them.

zimalady, on Ebay, is one of the names used by Bill's Cycle in PA.  Bill's was a Harley dealer that wouldn't knuckle under to HD and become a T-shirt shop.  He is no longer a dealer.  There was an article in Easyrider when it happened.  Those locks that they sell are almost identical to OEM big twin neck locks, including the BS keys.  I noticed a slight difference on the inside lock stop that is not visible when installed.  To me, the keys look identical to original.  You can give Bill's a call and they will fill you in on the details, and send you one of their catalogs.

Not trying to a smart a$$ , but what does the name or letters on the key have to do with it . Do you not just want to use the lock ? Do you leave the keys in the lock for a bike show or some thing?

Thanks Pzokes, I will do that.  Fourthgear thisis  one of the small details missing on my bike that I would like to have correct. No big deal but thats just me!

When you call them, would you ask them if those lock kits were originally made for a Harley.
