...just curious if you've tried Carhartt jeans?  A while back I thought I'd try a pair, man I'm telling you what they're fantastic, AND MADE IN THE U.S.A....  I mean really have you owned a pair of Levis lately, now that they're made in Mexico, their sizing is all goofy and their denim seems to wear out faster than before.  My Carhartt jeans are heavy duty, thick denim, and are aging nicely, I'm going out and buying another pair today (same price as competitors).

The reason I'm bringing this up is because my bro in FL has never heard of them before, so I enlightened him yesterday.  I just looked on the internet and they're made in KY...  KEEP AMERICANS EMPLOYED!

Any other products still made here, start posting.

I wear the carhartt bibs for work. I have to confess I didn't know they were American made, but I am glad to find that out.
I get over 3 yrs out of a pair which make them very affordable.

Key "Imperial" jeans and bibs. Made in Kansas, wear like iron. Reasonably priced as well.

I wore the Key brand, but the farm store I bought them from stop selling them. The one advantage to the Carhartts is the elastic in the straps.

Big Dan

I forgot about the elastic in the straps. Been a long time since I owned Carhartts. Not that I wouldn't buy 'em again... I'm just used to the Keys.

Wear them all the time. They make a great fleece line jean as well. Good for this cold Maine weather.

Working in construction in Pa. most of my adult life I have worn many Carhartt products from jeans, to bibs,to jackets to one piece suits . They might seem a bit pricy to some but if it means making a days work in some sort of comfort when the wind starts blowing and the temps get way down to below freezing there worth every penny. They are tough, and I still have a black pair of insulated Bibs that I use when riding in the winter on those real cold days. They are a very good product and yes they were  made USA at one time, but now I look and  it says on the tag of my Bibs. US components aseembled in Mexico.
Wall's another product similiar to Carhartt is also assembled in Mexico.  :emsad:

I started wearing them about 5yrs ago, I'm sorta tall 6'3" and long legged, when riding the 36"  would ride up my boots and let a lot of air in, okay in summer not okay when 20f out. i saw Cabela's had 34 x 38 and bought a few pairs, very impressed, wore them daily, just replaced the original 3 pairs a couple months ago, they always have them in stock and last time they were only $26.00 each delivered!

two other good american made jeans are "Arborwear" and "prisonblues"  Prisonblues are made in the Oregon state prison by prisoners and all the profits go to help the children of those who make them.  It is strictly a volunteer participation.

There's also OshKosh (OshKoshB'Gosh!), made right here in Wisconsin. I like their painter style pants, but they can be hard to find.

Carhart are some of the best out there. Good sturdy jean and stylish enough to wear out on the town. Then again I live in Iowa.  :teeth:

I use Berne double knee logger jeans... double denim on the front, lots of extra pockets, suspender rivets, a lot for under $20.  Not sure where they're made though... don't have em with me at the moment.

Funny you should ask, I bought one pair at Sears probably two years ago.  They are wearing like iron, lots of washs and "Potty mouth"loads of wear and they look good.  I buy Levis mostly from Sears and the Carhardts are right near them,  I'll probably buy equal amount of both, some habits are hard to break.

I have a pair and they are slightly high quality than average.

I have a related question.  Between my fat calves and my new bulky Wescoe motorcycle boots pulling jeans over the boot shaft has become a real source of consternation.   Do the Carhartt jeans offer a roomier than Levy's leg opening to accomadate bulky motorcycle boots?

Good to know that, levis has lost a customer, and dang, they can't size a pair of jeans for crap, don't fit and very cheap made.

Back to bibs. I wear Carhartt Duck in cold weather, tough as armor and windproof. Key "Imperial" or Carhartt denim the rest of the year.
http://www.sierratradingpost.com/ sells seconds and overstocks, they have Carhartt products from time to time at great prices. Good outfit by the way, no lies no hassles.

Carhart jeans are great, cant seem to wear them out, lol

the Carhart fleece lined are perfect for those cool morning rides, not much wind gets thru them at all, I have a couple pair of the fleece lined I end up wearing most of the time this winter with the cool mornings and warm afternoons.

I like to wear the Carhartt logger jeans, they have built in chaps on the front and are great riding pants, also are plenty wide enough for any type of boot.  Where I live in Central Montana the insulated bibs are the everyday fashion statement in winter time and work great for cold weather riding.
