I just went with the speakers and am happy with the sound.  Definitely better than stock and sound is better.  No major big whoop but I cannot expect major improvement withoout an amp....

I did not put an amp in as I was chasing a short gremlin.   For

Get the 40x4 four channel amp with maxxbass circuitry, it makes the speakers sound like they're 10ft tall. I just installed the big ultra kit and my buddy ordered the amp and front speakers for his street glide after he heard mine, and he is running a Fosgate amp with 6x9 lid speakers, and the Hogtunes blew his away!

I may add amp later if the electric gremlins do not surface....  Bike will be going SEA to SFO next month and will be a good shake down..

:agree: The 4 Ch AMP (and Tweeter Pod).

I have the Radio Sound System which has the greatest improvement with Hog Tunes. However, the Harman Kardon systems also benefit.

The new harley speakers have some good sound. Waiting for Sturgis to buy something. Looking at Hd and Hogtunes but have not heard Hogtunes yet and dont want to mount apm below the tour pak.
2010 limited so need four speakers and amp, dont want tweeter pods if the interfere with windshield bags.

I found a  H-D amp with all wiring cheeeep, ebay.
Mounted all that, added Hogtunes speakers and it works pretty well.
Dead space under the tour pack rack anyway. 2010 Limited
On my other FLH, I went Biketronics and custom speakers + lowers speakers and amp and it works VERY WELL.

Bakon, the Hog Tunes amp mounts in the fairing on top of the radio, really tho , I wouldn't even compare the HD set up to the HT, hands down the HT will blow away anything I've heard to date. And on occasion I enjoy proving it.....  :teeth:

Dead space, yes. But dont want anything out in rain. I ride across country and hit all rain sometimes. I turn off radio in rain anyways, just dont like putting it out there to begin with. Might not hurt sitting still but road spray gets everywhere under the tour pak.

Does hogtunes offer any ipod connection which works through radio handle bar controls like harley?

Why would you want to mount the amp under the tour pack?

You don't need to. Either a Road Glide or Ultra, it will mount under the fairing. The Hogtunes 4 channel amp and speakers was the best thing I did on my RG Ultra. Site member and supporter CA Phil is the go to guy for this stuff.     Send him a message or give him a call. Tell him your are HTT.

That is where the harley 4 channel goes.

Where else can you mount an amplifier if you already have the iPod interface and CB modules mounted on top of the HK radio?  The only place I can think of is under the tour pak as the factory does.

Can the iPod interface and CB modules be moved to the bottom of the HK radio?

I have the CB module and XM module on top of the radio.  The 4 channel amp sits on top
of all of it.  Fit's perfectly.  Go to HT web site and download the installation instructions and video.  Can't imagine anyone mounting an amp under the tour pak for weather to ruin it.
