A S&S Cycle member on the V Twin forum said it is all not true...and there is no plans on a 139" motor :nix:
My friend that was at the expo with me...just called S&S yesterday and talked to a rep there, and got some more specifics on the motor...that is suppose to not exist.
Who do you believe?
I'm not in the market for a S&S motor at the present time...but if they released a 139, my friend would snatch one up in a heart beat.
Time will tell I guess.

With stuff like this, I always take the approach of "I'll believe it when I see it".

FWIW - If I was told something by someone (whether by accident or not) in the industry about an un-launched product, I don't think I would go posting all over the internet about it either. Just my opinion.

 you got a point there...I just thought some fellow members on the forum here would have liked to known what my friend and I was told by a S&S rep at the expo. I didn't figure he had any reason to lie about it.
Time will tell I guess.

I highly doubt we will see a crate 139".

It just doesn't make any sense to me why they would create it?

4.625 X 4.375

IF that's the dimensions used, good luck fitting that into a stock frame.  The B2 heads are .200 taller, your rocker cover is going to be bouncing off the back bone.  I had a 4.75" stroke in a stock frame and there was barely any room.. I couldn't even get the rocker covers off without removing the front engine mount and pushing down on the engine.

Wouldn't be the first time S&S came out with a motor that doesn't fit a H-D frame.   Can you say Xwedge.

Yeah, I've been down that road and its real tight-especially the rear but it could fit-just barely.

Any pics of your new motor in the Dyna?

Not yet.  The wiring harness, ECU and TB is on route.  Once I have everything all wired up, I'll throw the engine in.

No Cents,

Thought I might throw this out into the mix.  I had to call S&S the other day on another project I am working on and the tech led me to believe that it was not a 139" motor, but a 145.    I asked specifically about the "NEW" 139" motor and the guy said you sure you dont mean 145.    :nix: :nix:

Can you say "145" for the 07-up crowd. I just got off the phone with my guy @ S&S. He confirmed the new motor that will be released very soon as a 4 3/8 bore 145" motor in their own S&S cases!
I was at least correct on the bore size...but not the stroke.
He said for me to call him next week and he will have all the spec's for me.
The game just went to the next level.

Admiral Akbar

I think the next big question would be, "Will it fit in a stock frame?"  or does the frame need stretching?
Max

I dont see how it will fit myself Max...but he said "no" frame mods need to be done. It must have something to do with their new case design...maybe it sits a hair lower in the frame :nix:

build it

I can't see how a 145, with a 4.375 bore could fit in a stock frame and live, ever. This will be a cut the frame deal like the last one. A 145 with a 4.5" bore or bigger, maybe, and that's a big maybe.
Get the principles down first, they'll never change.

My S&S rep said it will fit in...with no frame mods...but  :nix:  looks like a tight fit to me.
As soon as one can be had...I know someone that will be attempting to put one in his 2013 Roadglide. I'll let you know how it goes.

That's pretty exciting news. Wonder how much? Just when I thought I wanted a 124....   :smiled:

Why couldn't the engine mounts just be cast a little higher... then u have room?? :idunno: :scoot:

4 13/16 is big stroke for a street motor, ok for a hot rod but.

The price???
your 1st born and the last two C notes in your pocket...I'd be willing to bet it's not going to be cheap for that monster.
I know a 124" with a B2 head option runs over 8K...so I'd say maybe in the neighborhood of 10K...but that's an un-educated guess!
Whatever the price is...I'm sure there will be some willing to step up to the plate on this one. I already know of one that cant wait.

I agree it will likely be considerably higher than the 124". The 124" is still pretty new and I'd guess they need to make money on that for the time they spent developing it and it was built to compete with the SE120R from a power and price perspective. My guess is the 145" with S&S cases will be in the $7495 ballpark with Super Stock heads if those are an option and go up from there with the B2 heads. I wonder if it will come standard with 675GE cams, springs and premium lifters?

RoadKingDave

I bought one last summer, no big deal.  It runs great ~138hp, 141tq.  I bought mine from Dubuque HD, but Steve can get them at GMR too.  He tuned mine.  I had D&D zillas, large TB, 2009 RK.

Seriously doubt it, when I just ordered (3-4 weeks ago) some of the new B2 heads, they came with the 650 lift springs and I had to pay extra to go to the .710   :idunno:
